2010 Tony Nominations

A Little Night Music Tony Award nominees Angela Lansbury and Catherine Zeta-Jones

“Glee” and Spring Awakening star Lea Michele and God of Carnage‘s Jeff Daniels announced the nominations for the 64th Annual Tony Awards May 4 at the The New York Public Library for Performing Arts.

The new musical Fela!, which began life Off-Broadway, and the revival of La Cage aux Folles, earned 11 nominations a piece, the most of any production of the season.

The Tony Awards will be broadcast in a live three-hour ceremony from Radio City Music Hall on CBS June 13. For more information, visit http://www.TonyAwards.com.

Longtime collaborators James Lapine and John Weidman announced the renaming of Henry Miller’s Theatre to the Stephen Sondheim Theatre. The renaming of the theatre is dedicated to Stephen Sondheim, the greatest and best known artist in American musical theatre on his 80th birthday. The announcement was made at the curtain call following Roundabout Theatre Company’s gala performance of the new Broadway musical Sondheim on Sondheim back on March 22, 2010.
