Quincy Jones

The world still needs help.

It’s been 25 years since Quincy Jones helped gather the biggest names in music to record “We Are the World,” but the song is as relevant today as it was then.

Jones confirmed to me today that he’s helping spearhead a new recording of the charity song with the proceeds going to help Haiti. The new version will be reorded on Monday in Los Angeles. (more…)

Matthew Morrison of Glee to make his own music

It’s time for gleeks everywhere to get excited; Matthew Morrison is going to release a debut solo LP.

That’s right, folks, The actor who plays Will Schuester on Fox’s musical comedy Glee told Access Hollywood Monday that he will be putting out his own music soon, and it should be something to believe in.

According to Access Hollywood, Matthew Morrison said that it will sounds somewhat like “a classier Justin Timberlake album.  It’s going to be me and a big orchestra, but also with beats.”

Surprising?  Not really.  Glee has been the big surprise itself, but now that it is obtaining pop culture success in a big way, it is definitely no surprise that the cast would ride the success of Glee to launch their careers in a big way.  Just recently the music from Glee obtained its own measure of success by achieving gold status from sales on iTunes.

Morrison said that, “right now, I’ve almost finalized a record deal and am going to be working on the album.  It’s going to be different.”
