On August 24, 2010 I was honored to attend the soft launch party for Proud Ally.  Proud Ally is a new grassroots organization that promotes straight support of equal rights through visual media. Our mission is to create and collect images and video that speak for the social change we are all fighting for. We also connect allies to organizations such as MENY, GetEQUAL, Courage Campaign, etc, so that we can all join the LGBT community in collective action, in both online and offline activism.

Here is the video I took of the event and pictures.  Click the picture below to see more!

WEDNESDAY JANUARY 6, 2010

Today, on my lunch break from work, I returned to the set of Law & Order: SVU and met friend and fellow blogger, Neal B.

During my 1.5 hour lunch break we saw a protest for equality and Kathy Griffin giving an empowering speech. Yes, It was all for the upcoming Feb. 10th episode of the show but oh, the magic of filmmaking, it all seemed so real.

SVU member, Detective Tutuola (Ice-T) was in the crowd keeping a watchful eye. After they finished filming the scene, Neal and I stood by watching the actors head to their trailers, greeting Ms. Foster with a “Sutton, We love you!” and grabbing a picture with Ice-T. We began wandering around the seemingly endless blocks filled with equipment, trailers and everything you can think of, hoping to catch another glimpse of Ms. Griffin! (more…)
